material
While selvedge denim woven on old-fashioned power looms (shuttle looms) is narrow, at approximately 80cm, innovative looms are capable of weaving fabric in wide (double-width) widths of approximately 110cm to 150cm. Fabric woven on innovative looms also requires only about half the length of fabric needed to make a single pair of jeans compared to shuttle looms, greatly contributing to the maker's efficiency. However, fabric woven on old-fashioned power looms (shuttle looms) can produce a unique vintage feel, with texture, unevenness, unevenness, weight (ounces), and selvedge that cannot be achieved on modern looms. For these reasons, selvedge denim can be said to have extremely high added value.

Sewing
The sewing work is a testament to the skillful techniques of skilled artisans whose years of experience have been etched into their work like tree rings. The sewing machines used are now an extension of the craftsmen's bodies, and they use a variety of machines, including those made by Union Special. The DEEP BLUE artisans' attention to detail, such as using different thread counts depending on the sewing area, are incorporated into the product, incorporating a "vintage taste that emphasizes texture."

Processing Shaving
The first step in processing the denim is to remove the creases, an important step that determines the texture of the denim. It requires experience and dexterity, and is done using a special file. Although the effect is subtle, the presence or absence of this step makes a difference in the three-dimensional finish. Special equipment is used to remove the overall color. Experience is required, as the processing is done carefully to achieve the desired look when washed. Processing only on the surface will make the unprocessed areas more noticeable, resulting in a lack of cohesion in the product, so the edges are also carefully processed, such as the edges of pockets, hems, and body bands. This is done along the stitching, so skilled technique is required, as overdoing it can break the thread. Pins are then inserted to ensure the creases are visible even when the denim is finally washed. Most of the processing steps require the skills of a skilled craftsman, and all are necessary to achieve a realistic look when worn.

Processing Blasting
Depending on the product number, we may also use sand to fade the color. We use fine sand and process it with enough force to scrape the surface of the denim. Naturally, the sand gets airborne and can cause serious injury if it comes into contact with the human body, but in return, it produces a three-dimensional fade that cannot be achieved with other processes. The processing steps change depending on the product, and we cannot complete the process with a single task, which is both the fun and the difficulty of manufacturing.

Processing Washing
The washing process is carried out in batches of 100 pairs. In the case of stone washing, pumice and other stones are mixed in. As the number of uses increases, the corners become duller and this affects the color fading, so the stones must be changed frequently. Chemical solutions are also often added to the wash, and this is done to achieve the softness of the finished product, the overall color fading, and the desired color fading. Since unstable factors such as temperature also come into play, what may seem like a simple task of washing can be an extremely delicate job. Naturally, if too much is removed, all of the jeans will be deemed B-grade. The amount of washing is not always consistent, so the jeans are sometimes washed together with dummy denim pants, etc.
As a manufacturer, we are particular about our products, which are made with the skilled work and experience of each process. In particular, as our lineup is centered on processed denim, we are always striving for realistic processing, adjusting the color tone according to the situation, and trying new processing methods that will surprise our customers.
